Keepsake Recipe Page

Keepsake Recipe Page

I wanted to save the recipes given to me by my mom and mother-in-law in their own handwriting.  This page was made using Christmas holiday paper.  You can choose any design paper you'd like for this project.  I made this awhile back and honestly could not tell you what brand of scrapbook papers I used.  I started by making the recipe cards out of the red paper as shown in the photos.  You can use one of the recipe card templates below, if you desire or you can make your own. As you can see, I put in the words, "Recipes for Love."  You can put whatever you'd like.  "Mom's Recipes" or "Recipes of Love" to give you an example.

For the recipe holder, I cut the green paper to a 5" x 7" size and folded the edges in to make it the size you see here.  It is made just large enough to hold a recipe card size.  I then took the red paper and cut two strips about 3 inches wide each and long enough to measure the same as the green paper.  I folded that piece of paper into an accordion style the same way we learned to make a paper fan in school.  I measured again and cut the accordion strips to match the size of the green recipe holder.  Tape or glue one edge of the red accordion paper to the back of the green recipe cover as shown in the second photo.  Do this with the second red accordion paper on the other side of the green recipe cover.  Place the green recipe holder onto your layout and decide where you want it to go.  Now glue or tape to the back of the folded red accordion paper piece and place down onto your layout.  The rest is done as shown in the two photos.  You can use your imagination and design any layout you'd like.  Have fun saving those precious recipes in your loved one's handwriting to a scrapbook.

To print off the below images on card stock, double click on the image.  Right click on the opened image and click on "save image as".  Then choose a file on your computer to put your recipe card template into.  From this folder open the image and click on "print" from your "file" section where you see "file, edit, view, history", etc at the top of your screen.

I got my Place in Time paper tablet at The Scrapbook Page in Aurora, NE but you can go anywhere that offers scrapbook supplies and order from there.  You can also get them at the Graphic 45 website above.

The "Recollections Scrapbook Page Holder" stand can be purchased at Michael's Crafts.  They have two sizes.  One is a 12 x 12 size and the other is an 8 x 8 size.  You can also get extra refill pages there.  I used the 8 x 8.  I cannot find where you could order the stand online.  I had to physically go to Michael's to get mine.

As you can see in the photos, I cut down the 12 x 12 papers to fit to the 8 x 8 Scrapbook Page Holder.  I had a lot of fun creating a page for each month of the year.  Now when a new month arrives, I flip the page over to that month.  There are so many wonderful ideas for using the Place in Time papers at the Graphic 45 website and you can check out Pinterest for more ideas.  Have fun!
